Sometimes it’s to mark a special anniversary. Sometimes it’s to give themselves the personal ceremony that they didn’t have at their wedding. And sometimes it’s in gratitude for having gotten through a tough period of time together.

It's up to you: you can invite family and friends and make it a larger event, or you can even keep it super intimate with just the two of you (or maybe with your children too).

I have helped a few families create a surprise celebration for their parents/grandparents, and it has been so fun for me to watch them appreciate marking that momentous occasion in a memorable and touching way.
