My couples typically describe themselves as non-religious, or spiritual but not religious, or from interfaith backgrounds but not religious (and, yes, sometimes there is a parent or grandparent that we need to offer a “tinge” of something to). And I regularly hear that they want a ceremony that is light-hearted, celebrates them and their story, and is short, sweet, and engaging.

My couples care about the ceremony and understand that we have the opportunity, together, to not only kick off the entire wedding celebration in a really fun, special, joy-filled and memorable way, but that we’re also kicking off their marriage at the same time, with so many people who matter to them there to cheer them on. They know that they have something really special together, and are excited to celebrate that in a personal and fitting way.
