Can you briefly explain what a wedding officiant is for those who might not know?
It’s the season of weddings expos and one thing I am asked at least two or three times per event is “what is a wedding officiant?” Oftentimes there are couples who have not considered who will be the person performing their ceremony. I have the joy of explaining to them that is where I come in, a professional wedding officiant.
An officiant is a person who directs wedding and elopement ceremonies. Depending on the local requirements and often based on the county in which the wedding is being held; officiants may be a professional, clergy members, justice of the peace, judges, county clerks, notaries or even a family member or friend specifically ordained to perform the wedding of their loved one.
An officiant is the one responsible for officiating the wedding or elopement ceremony and making the marriage legally binding. The officiant may also run the rehearsal and on the wedding day, they play the crucial role of guiding the couple through the exchange of vows and rings, oftentimes incorporating personalized elements like a love story or unity ceremony. These additional elements make a wedding ceremony unique and meaningful to the couple and their guests.
A professional officiant is often skilled at writing and public speaking, they are entrusted with the task of crafting and leading wedding ceremonies that are truly unforgettable.
At Forever Incredible, we pride ourselves on going beyond the traditional role of simply formalizing marriages. Instead, we get to know our couples. We work closely to design a unique ceremony that authentically reflects their story, values and dreams for their future together as spouses for life.
